College Options (ECCO)

The East Central Mn College & Career Options (ECCO) program brings together online learning, advanced placement, PSEO, and concurrent enrollment (college-in-the-schools) to offer eligible students in all ECMECC districts an opportunity to pursue higher education while fully participating in their high school activities and education.

About East Central Mn College & Career Options (ECCO)

East Central Mn College & Career Options (ECCO) program is a project designed to allow any eligible student the opportunity to complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) while enrolled in an ECMECC member district. The MnTC is a 40 credit block of general education courses approved by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) and guaranteed to transfer in its entirety to any MnSCU or University of Minnesota campus. Successful completion of the MnTC may satisfy up to 2/3 of the credits needed for an AA degree program and 1/2 of the credits needed for an AS degree program and will reduce the cost and amount of time necessary to complete an associate degree. Additionally, the MnTC meets many of the general education requirements at many MnSCU four-year institutions and the University of Minnesota system.

ECMECC is working with area MnSCU institutions to bring opportunities to our students. Information on this page will change frequently as we continue to refine the program in the months and years ahead.

Course Database

The database below contains the currently available information on college concurrent enrollment and “College in the Schools” courses offered in ECMECC member districts. The database can be searched to find opportunities for students to fill gaps in their MnTC program caused by scheduling issues and/or course option issues. Please click the “filter” button in the upper right corner to allow for searching in a particular column. Pine Technical and Community College, Lake Superior College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College have many online course opportunities listed in the database that can be used to fill program gaps. Tuition for PTCC, LSC or ARCC online courses will need to be paid to the institution offering the course.

If you wish to register a student for a course at another ECMECC school, you should contact the principal of the school offering the course to inquire about availability, class period times, etc.

If you have additional questions, please contact the ECMECC offices at 320-396-5214 or email Jeremy Mikla at: jmikla@ecmecc.org
